Pharmacy in Iran dates back to several centuries ago and Iranian and Greek pharmacists have IRANIAN PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES DIRECTORY
played an important role in shaping the history of pharmacy.
Establishments such as Razi Vaccine Institute and Pasteur institute and later on pharmaceutical
manufacturing companies are regarded as the onset of novel pharmacy in Iran.
Iranian pharmaceutical companies are capable of manufacturing the whole range of
pharmaceutical forms that are used in treating diseases.
After the 1979 Revolution, the Iranian pharmaceutical companies have presented a successful
experience of producing high quality generic medicines to make them accessible nationwide.
Current Iranian pharmaceutical infrastructure could set a good example for developing
countries.
The Iranian pharmaceutical industry is privileged to meet 95% of the Iranian requirements
to different pharmaceutical forms. More than 50% of active Pharmaceutical ingredients are
produced by local industries.
Given the strong Infrastructure of Iranian petrochemical companies and production of organic
solvents, Iran is regarded as the most suitable country for production of different chemical
intermediates used in pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceuticals.
As the biggest Iranian pharmaceutical association, the syndicate of Iranian pharmaceutical
